Living Room/ Washitsu : Japanese tatami floor room
You can sit and stretch your feet under the table in the living room sitting on the “Zabuton”, Japanese sitting cushion, traditionaly made at “Takaoka-ya”. You will see our symbol tree in the garden, mountain maple, and other seasonal flowers and plants. You can also enjoy sitting on the tetra cushion, so comfortable for reading and for your relaxing coffee time.
Bedrooms
We have selected the beddings with its comfortness. The main bedroom has 2 semi double beds with a long length which will take you to the best sleep during your stay. The bedding for Japanese tatami rooms, we have originally made the Japanese futon, which is 10cm thick, and the seasonally selected comforter will give you comfortable sleep throughout the year.

Using the bus from Kyoto station
Please use the Kyoto City Bus NO.50 from the B2 bus stop at the bus station located on the north side of JR Kyoto Station. Get off at “Nishi No Toin Shomen” and just a minute walk to HOUKA.
By car
Riding a car
Sorry, we don`t have a parking space at HOUKA, but there are many car parks around HOUKA (1-5 minute walk), so please park your car there.
