My relaxing time

Built with traditional methods, you can feel the real "Machiya" atomosphere, and at the same time, the room decorated just to full fill the guests` comfortable stay…
Looking up the ceiling, you can see all the way through the old soot left on the organic wall and feel the long history of the house.
Feel yourself actually "living in Kyoto", let yourself at ease and enjoy a cup of fresh espresso... that is my way of having a relaxing time.

Why choose HOUKA?

Treat yourself at
Kyoto`s splendor

HOUKA-east- is impressive for its historical organic wall. You will feel yourself at ease to feel like you have been living here for quite some time. Furnishings in traditional Japanese navy color will welcome you for your relaxing time.

Kyoto`s first certified
superior quality KOMINKA

Stepping into the 2nd floor, you can see the organic wall with the historical soot from the old times. We left the light switches and electric wiring as they were at the time built.

The fusuma paper is also drawn by Ms. Manami Kyuda. The lotus flowers with a sensitive touch is the symbol of HOUKA-east.

For the main bedroom, we have selected the “Simmon`s” matress to heal the guests from sightseeing around Kyoto.
